Shri D Yoganand

Shri D Yoganand
I met Prasadji in 1939 with a letter from my friend Shri D V S manynam. Afterwards we used to meet very often as friends. But then Prasadji left for Bombay and myself to Salem and after some time when I returned to Madras I was told that Prasadji is doing Sarathi's GRUHA PRAVESAM. I had been engaed by Sri V. Nagiah's Renuka pictures story department and was asked to work with Mr Linga-Murthy. During that period Prasadji used to come to our room for a chat and on one such occasion he informed me that we was offered direction for Sadhana Pictures' 'SAMSARAM'. As all the partners being my friends, I happend to work with Prasadji for 2 1/2 years not only as the associate, but also as Cameraman, Editor, Dialogue writer and production Manager. 'Samsaram' proved a super hit. Prasadji asked me to work with him for all of his assignements and provided shelter in his own house for myself.

Smt Prasadji treated me as their eldest son (though not adopted). Mr Lena Chettiyar of Krishna pictures approached Prasadji for a money maker like 'Samsaram'. Prasadji inflinchingly announced that 'Samsaram' was the brain child of Yoganand and recommended me to direct a film for Mr Lena Chettiyar.

The film was 'MARUMAGAL' in Tamil and 'AMMALAKKALU' in Telugu which proved successful and made me to make 56 pictures in Telugu, Tamil and Sinhalese within a period of 35 years. DurJng 1955 Prasadji decided to take physical rest for a certain period to have naturopathic treatment. Hence he asked me to direct his production 'ILAVELPU' which he remade it in Hindi as 'SHARADA'. Our relationship continued and Prasadji used to call me for story Sessions etc for many pictures made by him.

I had taken a number of medicines but without result. It was Nature Cure which brought back my health. During the Nature Cure Course, I had peryorce to do some yogic exercises; then these were meditations. These are the secrets behind my energy.
